The chickens kept in factories are probably planning an escape from the factory to your coop as I post this.

I wish!! If I won the lottery they would be. It does make a difference when they are my only pet. When you tuck them in at night Sophie a laced polish will jump in your arms for snuggles and hugs and throw a fit if you try to put her back on the roost. . She is funny. Everyone gets lots of pets.

I have been keeping everyone locked up in the coop lately as there are some nasty looking mushrooms growing in my yard and a hungry owl around.

I picked up some bananas at the store for them yesterday. I love watching the girls eat bananas and then Wolfe will come up and the hen will stand with her beak up and he will clean her up... They have googly eyes for him. I will try capture it on camera.

Darn it! I went down there and waited and waited... Then gave up and went and checked my empty nesting boxes. No disappointment though as no one has laid an egg since August and so wasn't expecting anything. It's okay as I get excited as the anticipation of those cartons of cute little bantam eggs. Plus I will hatching some mutts this year and hopefully have a few moms. ..
Okay I got caught off track. So I went back outside and sure enough my camera is not within reach and Rebecca a Japanese is standing with her tail to her head in the showiest poise frozen :as Wolfe cleans her off. I will have to wait a few more days before I give them another banana and be more patient.

Oh.. And btw the treatballs were awesome!! They still have scratch in them but the were rolling them around and scratching the ground. Everyone has been super chatty lately.. I should do a video as they sound so happy.

Ohh.. I had a grea idea... Coop Chrismas Lights!! I think I need to pick some up.. And another timer. I better not get too carried away with this project.

So I go away for a few days and come back and found a welcome home gift.. an egg! O M G ..
I haven't had an egg in months. Then the next day someone else!

Started with some decorations.. Thought I could get away with the wimpy latter but of course not.. Had to go drag the big daddy out. Just one strand took way too long.

I luv my momma silkie, she laid her first egg yesterday, so proud of her. Cant wait until spring to hatch some babies, they'll be so cute!
