Hey all,
I'm new to keeping chickens, all chicken farms on the family property were 20+ years vacated when I was born, but my fathers grandfather had 8 chicken barns one day.
I started with a flock of four red sexlinks, one of which died due to a broken egg. I love their enthousiasm to everything, especially if it's edible and since I'm also a wannabee prepper, the function to make eggs from kitchen waste is a nice bonus.
Our first daughter is a now 17 year old jack russel and our second daughter is of the human kind and now 2 years old.
I love to be part of the backyardchickens community and hope to be able to help one day as well.
