I have 3 Golden Comets approximately 1 1/2 years old. I got them when they were about 1. I love my girls! Being a newbie, I chose older chickens vs chicks. They are really sweet and come to me when I call them, with their funny chicken run. I would like to be able to hold them and handle them without them panicking. Any suggestions? Right now, it is approximately 20 degrees out so I go out and talk to them for a little bit but am not spending the time with them like I do in the warmer months.

Also, does anyone know the average laying age of Golden Comets?

the best way i have found to tame them, is a bubble bath and blow dry- i think what happens is that relaxes them, and one on one helps them, the other thing is go in in the evening before roosting and sit with them, holding one at a time, they are more relaxed in the evening
