Want to breed dun into my easter eggers. Questions?

I have 2 dun pullets that are from a w.c. dun polish rooster and the hens could be one of my easter eggers or my buff orp.X silver polish cross hen. I would like to breed dun into my easter eggers. I have a white e.e. rooster that I believe is dominant white(I have quite a few white chicks from him over colored e.e hens) and I have a barred e.e rooster. I'm thinking that the best rooster to breed to these 2 pullets would be the white e.e. Would I get any dun colored chicks from the first cross? I really want to breed the hens one time and hope for some dun birds,because of their crest. How long will it take to eliminate the crest? I bred a golden polishXbarred rock cross rooster to my e.e. hens and only got very few non crested chicks. I ended up keeping one black barred bearded pea combed pullet. She was one of the very few that did not have a crest. Any info. that you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Are you getting any colored chicks from the white roo or are they all white ? If they are all white then he has two copies of Dom white and his chicks will all be white. If you are getting some colored chicks then he only has one copy and you would have a chance of getting some Duns in the first cross. The Barred roo would probably be better to use though so you dont have to deal with the Dom white and you will always know which ones are dun and which are black without it being masked by Dom white.

I am getting both white and colored chicks. I will use the barred rooster. I'm not really going for a solid colored dun. I just want to add dun to the mix. The pullet pics looks like my oldest pullet.

Ok if you are getting colored chicks from the white roo then he only has one copy of dom white so you could get a few Duns from using him. And you should get some Dun Barred from using the Barred roo.
