Want to build a new coop

I want to build a new coop. Does anyone have a coop without fence? I don't want to spent the $$$$ on fence. Do you have any problem?

you mean a coop with out a fenced in run? what sort or predators do you have in your area? raccoons, possums, hawks, eagles many many many things will try to eat a chicken t

My doesn't have any kind of run. They walk out their door and have access to many many acres. Several predators live here im sure but for some reason none of them come around. So is my case I dont need one.

I want to do the same thing but am afraid they will end up in the corn field and not find the way out. We are already knee high.

They have a pretty good instinct. Mine disappear all the time into waste high hay. Looks like a breeze is blowing - nope just chickens lol. They always come back and often venture 100s of feet from the coop.
