Want to hear a guinea!

I am quite interested in guineas, however after hearing how loud they are, I'm not sure the neighbors would appreciate it. (
My neighbors are all family too, so they wouldn't have any problem letting me know exactly what they think of them either. They are about 200 yards away in each direction, so maybe it wouldn't be so bad.

Anyway, I've tried to find a video of a flock so that I can hear and watch them, but no luck! I've tried You Tube, and Google. Can anyone help me out? I would like them for next spring to help with insects and eating japanese beetles that abuse my raspberry bushes! Here's another question--Will they mainly eat the beetles and leave the bushes alone?

I hope someone can help! If you can record them for me and send me a link of where the video is posted, I would be so appreciative! I just want to know what I would be getting into first!

If you go outside, you may be able to hear mine. LOL Seriously, a recorded audio wouldn't do the decibal level justice. Mine are really loud. So loud, my daughter covers her ears when they start calling in the coop. If your neighbors/family won't tolerate loud noise, guineas aren't for you.

Oh, they're on you tube... here's a few links. They are not ALLWAYS loud, but very good watch fowl... anything odd will get them going which can be really good! I used to work for a lady that kept them, and we all got very used to them, rarely even noticed. If you have any trees and/or shrubbery which will at least a little muffle the sound, your neighbors may be ok with them, and they are quite comical and interesting, so if they're good sports, it may be ok.

Indoors, they are VERY deafening!!! Outdoors, better... though yes, still loud. This first recording is rather soft, the recording is, I'm sure the hen isn't, they must have modulated the sound while recording!

Wow, thanks for the quick replies with the info and the links! I'm glad that I got to hear them. I don't think that they would go over very well here after hearing them, though I do think that they are so cool! I wished that I had a house back in the woods somewhere with more than 1 acre! On the other hand.....maybe it's best I don't. I'd be out of control. I'll just have to keep an ear to the west for "bigredfeathers" flock. LOL!
