want to make a waterer/feeder for tomorrow

I tried to make my own feeders/waters as well, the feeders do great my waterers not too hot!! Soo I did buy a waterer but did the Folgers coffee for my feeder and works great!! I've got ducks so I use the milk jugs for their water.
I will be trying to make a 5 gallon waterer once they move to the coop, so hopefully I'll do better with that!!!

I think I'll try to do the folgers ith the food as well... do I need to put more than one hole for the food to come out? will it get jammed up in there?

Out of what? got any pics. Mines one of the metal 12 pound kind. I like that I can just add more food but don't like them pooping in it.

You could use a large funnel and slide it down over the chain/rope that the feeder is hanging from.

If you can't find a large enough funnel then get the biggest one you can. Find a lid from a 5-gal bucket. Put a hole in the center of the lid and slide down over the chain to the top of the feeder and then slide the funnel down to rest on top of it.

Just some thoughts...

I've got 3 holes in mine, they are about 1/2 inch tall and about 3 inches long. Works good! I have 25chicks and 3 ducks in there and I refill it once a day because they are PIGS!!!

I put the lid on the top so I can easily pull it off to refill it and I have it in a pie pan.

so far so good! they like their new digs! they're eating and drinking and sleeping and preening and happy! awwwww!

Funnels threaded through the hanging rope/wire/cable work, but I cut the bottom off a plastic milk/water jug and threaded that thru the hanging rope. That keeps them off the food and water pans just fine and is less expensive. (Reuse, recycle and all that.)
