So I found one of my hens laying on a bantam Cochin egg a few days ago. This hen has not been a good broody at all and always abandons her nest so I took the single egg from her and stuck it under a successful mama. I had absolutely no faith that it was fertilized as I've NEVER had any of my bantam eggs fertilized. My roo is a RIR. He definitely does the job but never with any success when it comes to my bantams. Well low and behold, I candled the egg today and it's fertilized! And way farther along than I initially thought. Would anyone be able to help me with what day it is possibly on? This is my first time with a bantam egg so im not sure if im looking for the same thing or not. I did see tons of veining and movement. The pics aren't the best as the flashlight I normally use for candling was dead so I had to use another not so great one. And for some reason my camera wouldn't focus either.
