WANTED: BC MARANS hatching eggs

I will have some FBCM eggs for sale this winter. Chicks in the spring. Drop me a line and I'll tell you more. Jesse has some chicks on eggbid.com right now that you may be able to win.

Not sure if he is caught on his orders or not, he was far behind. He doesn't come on much.... due to the emails stacking up on him. He is a nice guy but I haven't talked to him in about month so I do not know where he stands at this time with his orders.
Just be patient.

Just so you guy's all know, Mr Jesse does not sell any eggs. He only sells chicks. He had a very bad experience selling and shipping eggs so he no longer does that.

There are a lot of good BC breeders so you should be able to find someone who has some eggs now.
Here is some information for you and some links to breeders and associations.
I did a lot of research before I bought my BC chicks and I found that some of the most well known, respected BC lines, at least the ones you hear mentioned over and over again, are Wade Jeane, Ron Presley, Channing Grisham, and of course Beverly Davis. A lot of breeders have stock in their breeding programs from these breeder's lines. I am told Wade Jeane is no longer breeding birds, but a lot of breeders seem to have Black Copper and Wheaten stock from his lines. It is my understanding that Jesse's stock is from Wade Jeane and Channing Grisham. Bayhorsebonne's (e-bay) breeding program also has stock from Wade Jeane and from Ron Presley lines.

This is the official American arm of the French Marans Club:

I am not sure if Gina sells the BC-I know she sells the Cuckoo:

The BCs are wonderful-I love mine!
Oh, and I got mine from bayhorsebonne. She's great to work with and her birds are beautiful.

I also have Black Copper Marans.. I hope to have eggs for sale later this fall. You can send me a pm if intrested and I will put you on the list. I plan to incubate some as well and sell day old chics .

The Jeane stock is an Imported French Black Copper Marans.
You will just have to do lots of research and see what the breeders have. I would suggest reading the old yahoo-groups forum and then you can follow a lot of the breeding tactics that has happen in the past.

Real interesting.

Just get familiar with the breeders names and see what they have.

I'm really new at marans so it's only way I have been able to educate myself. Well other than a few breeders that have emailed me about some of the history of marans. Just spend some reading.

I'm not real big into genetics but figure with the true French marans at hand right now I don't have to worry to much about it until I start to introduce some new lines. Then I'll have my hands full. But thats going to be a couple of years. Lord help me then.

I would start with this one group.
Its seem to be the oldest and has bunches of history. It doesn't take as long as you think to go though all of the post. The information will suck you in like a good novel.

If you would like more group names just email me.
Hope this helps.
