I got my BA eggs off eBay, got 26 and hatched 19 - not too bad for eBay eggs shipped from Calif. and hot weather shipping.

In the long run, I'll buy the hatchery chicks before I do the egg thing for this breed.

The idea of buying chicks didn't occur to me, I guess I have been hatching oriented lately. But buying chicks would save me 3 weeks and get me a more assured number of chicks. So hatchery suggestions are appreciated.

I'd think they'd start laying in a few weeks. I did see that Ideal Hatchery (www.ideal-poultry.com) has them available. And sometimes Meyer Hatchery does too.

I got lovely BA chicks from mypetchicken.com, who I think got them from mcMurray. Nice to be able to get just 8 chicks, all healthy and alive 4 weeks later
