hey there Cyanne, from where im at, im having a time getting anything other than eggs shipped into arizona!
bird owners have to have a certificate of health shipped to the arizona state vet from a vet in whatever state the birds is coming out of. the cost of shipping anymore is crazy too! im just going to have to settle for eggs, and wait a couple years more before i can get results.
yeah swapping eggs with you would be great. heck i started with hatchery astros in the beginning. i had a great pair i got from an assortment of chicks from murray mcmurray. they were nice birds in fact when they matured. the male died so i found a prominant breeder from ohio, Tim Frazier and got a pair. i bred both hens and began from there. later i bought a trio from the ballard farm in texas, and bred into those and then a rooster from new york and bred that bad boy and i had 80 australorps, BAM! i was winning all the arizona shows and the local county fair for 5 years strait.
then something terrible happened, should say stupid,
i found harley davidson and rode off in the sunset, selling all my stock and epuipment. IDIOT!
so now that i have that out of my blood, im back with just a couple of my old stock, i bought back and starting from gound zero with a new attitude, and a new project.
hopefully we can get the blue australorps up and running , perhaps even getting the a.p.a. to recognize the breed. wouldnt that be a hoot?!
