I'm still looking for some Buff Orpington hens in Tennessee. Anyone? I'm in south east Tennessee near the Ga line so if you live in North Ga that might be an option too.

I have 5 BO hens a rooster if you feel up to taking a trip to Southern, IL. One hen is broody and sitting on about 16 BO eggs.

I wish I could. But I'm afraid I wouldnt have the time. I have 2 kids. One in school and I'm taking classes to be a vet assistant. So its really hard for me to find extra time to take long trips like that. Sucks most of all is that I don't have a baby sitter. So me and my hubby have to juggle everything.

I know how that is - well maybe some will show up somewere close soon. I have been thinking of becoming a vet assistant to - how much schooling does that take? I know a vet is like 8 yrs I think.

A vet assistant doesn't take that long at all. Most vet offices require you to have a certification but you really don't have to. There's no law against working as a vet tech with out a certification. But you won't get hired likely if you don't have one. So I'm getting mine. However long it takes me to pay off the tuition is how long it will take me to finish the lessons. Basicly you just have a lot of things given to you to study, and then you take tests. Pass the tests and your certified. It's quite easy.
