Wanted: Chicks In Or Near Tennessee?

I'm kinda thinking now I may hold on to the welsummer crosses for a while. I really want to see what they turn into!

Right now they are a weird cream brown laced. Odd, yes? I'm wondering what their grownup feathers will look like. With a buff x welsummer mix there shouldn't be any lacing. Baby feathers are so weird.
At any rate, they are about two weeks old now so I've got a while before we get our grownup feathers. I have no idea about gender either. They are still really little.

If you'd like some of that cross I can either get you eggs or can hatch you out a lot. The bator is always ready to go!

I don't have a recent picture. I'll make another one soon and post it for inquiring minds.

CityGirlintheCountry I would sure like to see some pics of them! I really don't need more chickens...just thought if you had an extra pullet or two.....can't do roos. Anyways, let me know if you end up with one that needs a home! Thanks!

I have chicks and chickens for sale. Not too far from your area. I have buffs, white rocks, black stars, rir all about a week or so old getting the wing feathers. I also have pullets that are older but have a ways to go before laying egg time, they are black stars, buffs and some red-sex link. I have full grown hens Barred Rocks and Black Stars and maybe a Buff hen(*she is not for raising chicks) we took her chicks from her after she tried to kill them. She sits great but TERRIBLE mom. Grown hens are all two years old and under price on them is $15, Little chicks are $2 and the pullets are $6. We also have EEs and maybe some Ams..... Your welcome to come her or Could meet you in Clarksville if you know what you want .... have way too many to haul around.

Okay... here are pics of 2 week old welsummer/buff orpington chicks. They started out looking very BO, but now are looking more welsummer. I figure we have at least one more dramatic feather change to go through though. Any guesses on what we will eventually look like?

I am happy to hatch more of these for whoever wants some. My hens are popping out more eggs daily.

Amazondoc~

Right now I just have two 6 yr old white rock hens in my run...My 10+yr old banty rooster just died a couple weeks ago. Also I just got 8 chicks from Froggy- thank you! (supposed to be all pullets so I'm keeping my fingers crossed- although as long as they don’t fight, they make great pets either way)... so I really only have room for maybe a couple more...especially if they are going to be quite large. I had a light brahma cockerel several years ago(he was like a adored little pet poodle) that I had raised from a chick but I didn't know what he was at the time( found a pic on google recently) b/c I didn't know that much about chickens. Anyway he was HUGE! He stood nearly 3 ft-and I am not even kidding! He was such a cutie, his legs were completely covered in feathers-it looked like he was wearing long bloomers! I had him in with my silkies and they would always huddle under him when they got scared. He had a choaking problem though and on two separate occasions was able to hit him firmly on the back and under his crop to keep him from choaking....but one I saw day him in the distance making that yawning motion so I ran out there and before I could get to him he had collapsed! I never was able to revive him... it was such a sham too, he was gorgeous! I was a little crushed after his death so this I the first time in years that I’ve decided to get any more chickens. I wonder if that’s mainly a problem with the larger birds.. anyways…sorry I’ve gotten off the subject, just call me tomorrow and let me know!

By the way- PromiselandFarm~

Just saw this post; I actually posted today about several breeds and sizes that I have for sale. If you are still looking, I am located in Vanleer, TN which is about an hour west of Nashville off I-40. I have chicks from under a week up to 7 weeks of age and a few grown bantams and Silkie roos for sale. As for the chicks, I have both white and red Japanese black tail bantams, mille-fleurs, silkies and several small game hen breed chicks. We also still have a few 6 week old peachicks and pheasants ranging from 7 weeks to a week in age.
