We’ve never sealed ours and it still looks great/the same I thinkGranite needs sealed every 6-12 months. Porous to stains.
Quartz doesn’t need sealed. Not being solid stone, it has a epoxy type binder to help fill gaps. It’s not porous because of this, but CAN develop dark spots if hot pans are set on it. 200-250 degrees is ok. We’re talking oven hot or frying hot pans.
I had granite in my previous house. I prefer the look of stone and it’s more cost effective.
