I have been "open" to adding a roo to my mixed standard flock (list below) for protection and leadership. I need to be careful that whoever we add is people friendly as we frequently let them free range and we often have young children around who are enamored with our flock.
I am open to many different breeds as long as the temperament is right.
I just saw some bantam cochins yesterday that melted my heart - they look like MUPPETS! If I thought they wouldn't get picked on by my big girls they would have been in my purse and on the way home.
