Wanted/Needed!!!

Could you post some pics of your eggs from your blue coppers from Bev? I would dearly love to seem them, also the birds. Are the birds big? are they feather legged?

I sure can. I am going to take a bunch of photos of all the birds and their eggs here in the next few days. The roosters are good sized, the hens average. All are very pretty.

I collected a VERY nice egg from a blue copper hen yesterday. Size is a larger medium. No extra large eggs from them yet, but color is at least an honest 5.

I hatched out 9 of 14 from Bev and 1 died. I ended up with the following:
1 non feathered blue copper roo
1 non feathered black copper roo
1 feathered black copper roo
2 feathered blue copper roos
1 feathered black copper hen
2 feathered blue copper hens

The non-feathered roos are the best overall quality otherwise so I am using them on my feathered hens along with one of the feathered roos. Bev said she put a dark egg black copper rooster in with blue copper hens. I saved the eggs these chicks hatched from and the blue copper hen is actually laying an even darker egg than she hatched from so Bev's plan to darken egg color worked.

Bev got back in touch with me today with the prices. Unfortunatley there is a waiting list of course.

It is WORTH THE WAIT!!! I have had marans from 4 different "breeders". Her eggs are the darkest and biggest. She only sends well packed, fertile and CLEAN eggs.

Here's the last one I just collected. Along with some Buff Rock eggs...

He's a mille fleur "cochin" but you can still see the D'Uccle traits, like vulture hocks, lower wing tips, higher head carriage. He has had his first offspring hatch. I am STOKED! They are out of black mottled cochins, not show type.
