I got some mixed eggs from Chickenlisa to hatch under a broody hen. It was my first attempt at doing this so I wasn't sure what I would get. I ended up with six adorable little fuzz-butts! They are EE mixes.
I picked the eggs up from her and between her schedule and mine, I'm sure I made her crazy because I had to change the dates of pick-up. She kept on collecting fresh eggs for me and she had the dates marked on the eggs.
DH and I finally got to her house at 9:30 on a Friday night. I was only going to pick them up and leave, but we didn't go home until almost 11:00!
Lisa showed me how to candle eggs (she had a bator of duck and chicken eggs) and showed us her coop set-up. We were so busy "talking chicken" we didn't realize what time it was!!!

Got eggs from Hope9401, She did a great job packaging them and I hope to hatch all. She sent white silkie eggs.

Got 12 Salmon Favorella eggs from Bantyman. He shipped them fast and did an awesome packing job. Only one broken egg in the lot.

I got 36 eggs from howlingwoodsfarm - a barred rock dad and a mix of hens - of the 36 I had 16 hatch. This is my first hatch ever and I thought things went well. They met me on their way home from Portland - very sweet people and so great to work with.

Three weeks ago I received one dozen blue/splash orp eggs from KrofusKluckers/Christina shipped to me in Louisian from Washington. The eggs arrived via U S Postal service in the trunk of the mail carrier's car late in the afternoon with temps 90+ degrees and having being jostled around all day.
I rested the eggs and then placed them under a broody buff orp hen. The environment was not controlled as in an incubator. The daytime temps were 90 degrees and the humidity was all over the scale.
On Saturday, May 31, I was rewarded with a 100% hatch of the 12 eggs with some beautiful, healthy, robust blue and splash orp chicks.
To Christina, thanks for all you did in providing the eggs and the superb packaging. I will definately be ordering more eggs in the future from you.

I got eggs from Ed (92caddy), the box was crushed on one end, but every single egg was unharmed! I also got plenty of extras! The eggs were wrapped really well, it was like opening presents on Christmas my daughter said. He also marked each egg for me so I would know who is who when they hatch. Cant tell ya the hatch rate, since I just got them.

In helping Jody and family keep their lead....they are awesome! I have been there,seen the monster birds they keep and have some of their birds. I am lucky to live so close so I can swing that way if I need something. We had a very nice visit.

Aww, I have to say thank you to everyone for such nice comments. I hope you are all enjoying some chicks or grown chickens from us. We love to share our passion for our chickens and BYC is our favorite place to do so.
