Wanted Predator-wise Rooster in SE Iowa

Hey Laura,
THe small town swaps are ok if you are close enough. There usually only 10 to 20 people there. I have heard the Burlington is pretty good. I also love the Waverly swap. They will have that one again on Sept. 23. They are usually pretty big. The spring one is really BIG. If you feel like a car ride then I suggest going to that one. If you go in the fall then you can sign up and they will send you a flyer once a year with the dates. Hope you find some good buys and more friends. Jenn

Hi Laura!

I'm 30 min from Iowa City. What types of birds do you have? I have buckeyes, golden lakenvelders, amerucanas, speckled sussex, and guineas.

I have chicken mutts!

They had an easter egger daddy and various hens for mothers.

I got them just a few weeks ago from a friend who hatched some out last year, so they are already laying well as they are just over a year old. I only have four, but but I want to get some more. Last spring Orscheln's farm store had buff orpington chicks, so I was thinking of getting some of those in the spring.

I do like the breeds you have, especially the speckled sussex! Where did you get your chickens from? I can't have 25+ so can't order them from a hatchery.
