@s

I lurked that one. I agree with Cindy. Pretty sure I liked her comment that poofed.
I wondered what you meant by "poofed". Apparently oldhenlikesdogs deleted it for being confrontational. 🤷‍♀️ Meh. I guess it was. I notice though that op is now thanking people for the help they had been trying to give him, so that's good. 💕

Or put it in a very safe place that is so safe you can't remember where you put it😬🙄
I have that issue every day. I often can't remember where I put something 5 seconds later.

Just the other day I was missing a bowl. I spent ten to twenty minutes looking for it in the front part of the house. I made passes in both directions because sometimes looking at a spot from a different angle can reveal something previously missed.

I finally gave up and used a different bowl. Later I finally remembered that I had put it in the refrigerator because it had a pork roast in it.

Done that. 🤦‍♀️ Now my rule is to put things in the first place I think of. That way (if I can remember I ever had the thing) I can think, "Where would the first place I would think of if I were trying to hide this thing?" Generally I find it after the 1st or 2nd try. 😆 Apparently I'm that predictable.

I hate it when I lose a fork, look all over the kitchen, and discover that it was in my hand the whole time.
I also laugh at myself when that happens.
Or that time when I took some butter out of the fridge to cook something with, left it out to soften for some twenty minutes, then came back and took out another box before turning and seeing the other box on the counter.
I lose things, then I find them... but I've never found my marbles, assuming that I had any in the first place. 🥴

I have found that always putting things in the same place works. Unfortunately for me, I tend to leave things right where I last used them. That isn't too bad until they get covered up with other things.
