I hate it when I lose a fork, look all over the kitchen, and discover that it was in my hand the whole time.
I also laugh at myself when that happens.
Or that time when I took some butter out of the fridge to cook something with, left it out to soften for some twenty minutes, then came back and took out another box before turning and seeing the other box on the counter.
I lose things, then I find them... but I've never found my marbles, assuming that I had any in the first place. 🥴
I do that all the time with my phone :lau

I will NEVER find all my marbles!

When DS' Cub Scout Pack expressed an interest in the Mibster patch (Marbles,) on a camping weekend that looked like rain, I cleaned out the dollar store and the local Wally World so I'd have enough for each boy to keep a set. I ended up with a gazillion marbles ... and a weekend that cleared up enough to hike and do "camp stuff" instead. Since I'd bought the marbles. myself, I took them home for another day. When we finally used them, it was only for my den, so I had MANY marbles left over.

All was fine until my then toddler daughter found my stash. Do you have any idea how many places nearly two gallons of marbles can roll to ... and how many places a busy two-year-old can hide them? DD just graduated HS, which tells you how long ago those little buggers spilled ... and we're STILL finding marbles ... all over the house. Every time I find one, I silently place it in DD's hand and give her "The Look." She face palms and just walks away. It's priceless!

@sdm111 Are you home or did you have to come here or elsewhere.
Sorry, I can't remember how you made out with Lara
Yeah were staying here. Luckily for me (not others ) it has moved east of us which is the lesser side. Still real close and will get pretty bad weather with wind and rain. And tidal surge too may flood. Thanks for asking yall I'll be fine. We would have had stayed whatever track it took

I was on the south shore earlier ursuline I was at westend but back home now

I am not going anywhere, we are pretty prepared, our house is 2 story with a large attic above (with an ax up there) and the first floor is 5 feet off the ground. Hens will be in laundry room. (2nd floor) will bring them in the attic if we have to, LOL
After Katrina we decided F it unless it's greater than a three.
Thanks for asking :hugs
Watch out for those biddies. With the possible exception of a broody, I hear there's nothing madder than a wet hen! (A weak attempt at humor 'cause I'm worried!) :he
