The mortality rate has never dipped below 100%. (Barring Elijah & possibly Enoch & Moses—some say John, the beloved disciple.) But that's not statistically significant, so...

Even the One who still lives died once ... so the 100% mortality rate stands!

Where I grew up, they used to tell you that the rotten egg water was good for you just to get people to drink the water.

We had a lot of sulfur in our water for a while, too. Sometimes it was worse than others but it seemed to clear up after a few years on that well. Maybe we drank it all up.
