My husband was the same. His always ran high for normal standards. I could bring it down within normal range, but his body would act as if it were too low. He was type 1 though. I had both Levemir and Novolog in my fridge. Both used daily. The Novolog about 4/5 times daily.I have very little control there because I just don't care. My doctor understands me and knows better than to give me a hard time about it. In the summer when I am more active, my A1C is fine for me. Fine for me is higher than the recommended levels. In the winter my A1C is high for anyone.
Eventually it will catch up with me.
