Here were some of my free rangers.
I didn't feed, water or provide shelter for them and they survived quite well. They did eventually all die from broken hearts because I didn't provide love either.

I had a strange dream involving cats last night. Two little cats, about four or so inches long like my old (ancient!) beanbag toy cat -- same shape, too, but they had bones.
Anyway, so there were two of the little things in my room -- one had a black body and head but white paws and legs, and the other was mottled white and smoky gray. I can't remember what the gray-white one was doing... something to do with a book, I think, and I picked him up. He really didn't like it, and started trying to bite my fingers, but only left little dimples, as his teeth were too small to do much of anything.
He was also cursing me in English, with an Australian accent. I think that it was Australian, at least... whatever it was, he was a feisty little thing.
Anyway, do... something with him -- I think that I tossed him someplace or another, like outside the door -- and perch on the bed, where the black-and-white cat was relaxing and reading another book. She was totally chill about the whole thing.
And then I'm pretty sure that I woke up.
I have really weird dreams, apparently....
Hmmmm .... I'm no expert, but I've been playing with dreams for a long time and find them fascinating windows into our minds so - here goes my stab at it.

So - dreams about cats usually involve your own intuition. Being scratched or bitten means you don't trust what your intuition is telling you . The first one was mottled - unclear - and was cursing you in your own language, but with an accent. I'd venture that you understand what it's trying to tell you, but either not completely or that it goes against your gut. You removed that little cat (the little voice of your intuition) somewhat forcibly, so you don't want to hear what it's telling you. The other cat is black and white - clear-cut. She's relaxed and comfortable - in it's own and your "comfort zone."

Long story made short - your "inner voice" is advising for or against something, but you don't really want to heed it. You get it, you understand the logic, but you don't like it. You prefer staying within the clear boundaries of your comfort zone, so you push the idea/decision. whatever out of the way. But cat's will scratch at the door to come back in, so make sure you'take a good, hard look at the issue before you decide to stay the current course.

This feels "right" to me, but it wasn't my dream, so I don't count. If it clicks with you, then that's likely the issue and you're probably on the right track:
