It's too early to be tired... it's only three in the afternoon... it's too early to be tired... coop's empty of dirty bedding, now I need to refill it... I've gotten a wheelbarrow-full of ferns and grass... by hand... it's too early to be tired.... 😩
Sleep well, M'Dear ... eventually! But what a wonderfully productive day. You've definitely EARNED your tired!

Small dogs live longer, eat less & don't smush you when they climb up in your lap. 😂 They have just as much personality as big dogs, are just as likely to be smart and can be humanely kept indoors while you're gone. If you live in town, they're much easier to exercise sufficiently. For most peeps, small dogs really make more sense, but lots of peeps are in love with bigs. 🥰 We have a large, a medium & a small. DH wants a super-large one now. 🤷‍♀️

Oh, and he doesn't believe in outdoor dogs. So that cuts out an LGD, I guess. I'm no good with training dogs anyway & he positively hates it when I try. Soooo, none of the dogs will come to him or obey him at all and he wants to know why they listen to me (slightly) better. :gig
Yeah I’m really starting to see the appeal of the smaller to more medium size dogs! Easier to handle and take places too.

Gator was great but he was just too big LOL and if/when he lunged or pulled or something, he about knocked you over. 😂🤣

Also very slobbery and drooly and shed a lot! Plus ate a lot and popped a lot and cost a lot more at the vet. :lau

And he wasn’t even that big compared to a lot of the giant breeds!!! Tell him he doesn’t want a giant breed LOL

Because it's always best to listen to the wife... you don't want an angry wife!
(Joking. Though, it is best to avoid making family members mad.)
I, personally, really like Huskies. They're so fluffy and cool -- like wolves.
I love huskies!! But I don’t think they’d ever work with livestock and small animals of which I have both 😭

Chilling gives the moistened gluten in the flour a chance to rest and the fat (butter, lard or Crisco) to chill for better flaking in the crust as it bakes.

Got my new phone this week...a Galaxy S20 with acessories was less than $900. I pay $65 a month for my Sprint service.
Didn't get all the bells and whistles but enough to last me for a long time. Hubby wanted my S5 to replace his archaic flip phone that he used only in emergencies....like come get me cause I'm broke down in the field. Will have to teach him how to text and take photos :gig :gig :gig

We did too.
Part of my eulogy for my Grandmother's funeral was to describe
"Watching our Grandma hand sewing the pieces of her day dress together with very tight tiny stitches. When asked why, she said because those stitches were stronger and would last a long time. She was the fabric that has held this family together thru good times and bad. The stitches are now her children and grandchildren who hold the pieces together as the garment ages. We must take care to mend the frays in the seams so that the family stays close for generations to come".
Sadly we haven't done a great job holding the extended family together. The separate families do fine, but the big get togethers/reunions has been few and far between.
We've found a way around some that, at least a little bit. Before Covid, we had small family outings with one or two cousins with like-aged kids. When they were smaller, it let the youngsters get to know each other, at least by face. When they got older, it got harder, but now they can meet for bowling or a gaming party. or to watch a football game. We haven't reached everybody, but at least some of the core groups are still intact. It's funny, because every once in a while someone would blurt out, "We need a Cousins Party," and someone would manage to throw something together. It's nice to hear that from my teenagers, now, because it means the concept had "taken." There's hope that they'll know more than one or two faces at the Family Reunions, now ... if we're ever allowed to have them again!
