I live in Sandpoint Idaho and I am in desperate need for a White Crested Black Polish Bantam chick, female. Our little baby passed away last week and most of the places around us are already out of their chicks or do not have this breed. Other places online want from 8 to 25 as a minimum order and as we let her live in the house 1 is plenty for us to keep the floor clean, anymore and we would be knee deep in it.
My wife has been distraught that she doesn't have her baby come running to her when you call her name, has no special sounds being made around her all day, has nothing pecking her foot when she wants something and no longer wakes to find a chicken asleep on her pillow at the side of here head.
Please, can anybody help in pointing us in the right direction to where we can get another from around here?
I miss her too but my wife keeps breaking down in tears and I have to be strong for her.
Thanks,
Ian

Hello Ian and Welcome to BYC!

I am so sorry for your loss.

It is never easy to lose them. You might start by chatting in your state thread and maybe someone nearby can get you a bird companion..

You can also stop by our Buy Sell and Trade section to see if you can locate one of these birds...

You might also check out the Polish thread and maybe someone there can help you locate on here as well...

I am so sorry your wife is so sad.

I hope one of these leads can get you started on a path to finding a new bird.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! So sorry for your loss. TwoCrows has give you some good links to get you started in your search for a new pet. If you can not find a single sexed WCBP chick, you might ask in your state thread etc if anyone would want to split an order with you or has an order coming from a hatchery where you could add your chick too their order... or go ahead and order the minimum number of chicks and sell the extra ones, chicks of egg laying breeds especially are usually pretty easy to sell this time of year.

Thank you, I have been to all the places around here that sell chicks and have an ad on Craigslist too. I appreciate your assistance.

I think it is murray McMurray that carries a standard sexed polish. Do you know anyone that would want the other 24?? I would!!! They are one of my favorites. Unfortunately, I live in tx
