Wanting a Pied Blue Hen

Hello! I am new to the board, its VERY busy!!

I have been looking for a young Pied Blue Hen for my Pied Male and am having trouble finding one. I am in Indiana and would travel a small distance.

If your goal is to breed pied chicks, a white hen, or hen split for white(an IB with white flights) or a dark pied hen will work. You'll get most pieds from your pied male with another pied hen but for example, pied bred with white will give you 1/2 pied and 1/2 white offspring... Anyways, hope you find what you want! Have you tried the UPA breeders directory? (united peafowl association)

My male is out of a Blue male & a White female, but now the more i learn, she may have been a black shoulder. The male is only 1 year old.


Im gonna try to upload a pic of my male and a pic of the parents and let me know what you think! I would like to produce Pieds. But of course they are all gorgeous.

Thanks! Thats what I thought. The person I got him from said she was a white..
Soo any suggestions for a mate? Should I just get a white hen or try something else? Silver Pied?

Your young male, from what I can tell is not an IB Pied. Since his father is an India Blue and the mother is black-shoulder, their offspring would be India Blue split to Black-shoulder. All my young males' bellies are speckled white too. If it was an IB Pied there would be more patches of white. Here is a picture of my 1 yr Pied male:

and here is a picture of him and my 1 yr old IB male, he has the white on his belly just like yours.

A white hen will not get you any pieds you could get a blue hens and hatch all india blue or a blackshoulder hen and hatch both india blue and blackshoulder. In order to get pieds your males would have to carry a pied gene.
