Wanting to add a rooster to my flock

My only issue with removing the cats is they keep the mice and birds and other rodents out of my barns. So that’s why I wanted to get a rooster to keep the cats away from the chicks

Once they are full size, I"m sure that the cats will think twice about messing with your ladies. Mine is TERRIFIED of my birds, who are all full size, but he'd snap any chicks up in a heartbeat. Make sure to think about the pros and cons of getting a rooster-they are loud, and can be mean to you, your girls, or both.

It is very simple to add a rooster to a flock that doesn't have one already you just introduce like you would any other chicken just make sure he is big enough to defend himself incase your girls get sassy

Try looking at the Chicks in need of rehoming, LOTS of people have unwanted roosters, and are willing to drive a while to give them to you.
