So I have been thinking about getting ducks for a while(khaki Campbell's) and have been trying to figure out a good setup. Here is what I was thinking I would build a big predator proof run for them. This Is where they would spend most of here time. In it they would have a shelter, there food and, a waterer. Then when I get home at three I would let them free range in the yard where they would have acess to a pond.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Going here may help since your wanting a specific breed. https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/302654/the-khaki-campbell-duck-thread..

Sounds like a good setup. We don't free range ours unless we're home. Too many predators.

Suggestions for a predator-proof run:
Hardware cloth on all sides, on the roof, and skirted out around the edges to prevent digging under. I went the extra step to put welded wire over the HW cloth on the bottom two feet. I've had zero problems with anything getting in.

The water should be deep enough for them to dip their heads in. I don't recommend have it inside their coop. Too messy. I keep mine in the run next to the food.

KCs are great. No risk of them flying away.
