Wanting to get some chickens.

Another question, of the breeds I listed above, do you see any problem with the combination (minus the RIR)? Will the ones that can't see as well get picked on too badly by those that can?

I got some local chicks that used them. They are strong and healthy. Their strain of wyandotte was a bit flighty though.

The only thing I see that may be a problem down the road is that the crested breeds may get pecked on if they can't see. I had a pair of polish... neither did very well. Got picked on and eventually snatched by hawks. I free range and they just weren't hardy enough for that kind of life.

Coming from a dog showing background, I do want to be sure the chickens that I get are true to breed type so who would be the best seller for that in mind? I had mulled over the idea of taking them to the fair when it is in town, but other than that I am not interested in showing *at this point*

if you want "true to breed" chicks, buy from one of the breeders on here ... not hatchery or feed store ... as mentioned earlier, you have connected with a BUNCH of enablers ...
