Warm weather confusing your birds???????

I would imagine now would be a good time to separate breeds. You never can tell with mother nature these days.

so about dusk tonight, I see my turkeys have all put themselves up on their normal roosting area on top of the kennel runs. one of my hens is standing funny though, half standing, feathers fluffed, wings dropped like the males do when they're strutting. I think "huh, that's a little odd" and make a note to go check on her after I get everyone else put up.

turns out she was laying an egg.

yeah, they're confused all right!

the warm weather here in south ga has our turkey hen laying eggs and my male peacock struting his stuff

my new rp hen is laying, but not nesting. Shes my first hen, what does she need for a nest? Shes penned at night and free roams at day when Im home to watch them.

The very mild winter here in Northeast, made for a longer than usual heavy moult , from end of Oct. to perhaps a week or so ago, chickens finally stopped moulting.
