I had this chick hatch a few days ago. I’m thinking this is herniated umbilical but I’m not sure. The chick isn’t alive, but does anyone have any tips, experience with this, etc. any info is appreciated!!!

It looks like a prolapse.
If it was, and you catch it early, you can cover it in sugar and gently press it back inside.

It helps reduce the swelling of the tissue allowing it to be manipulated better. Once inside the body just absorbs it.

Its common practice with larger livestock, dogs, cats, etc.
