Warren chickens

Just about to edit my profile - my boyfriend has returned from Download ( Music festival for those who don't know) and it turns out Betsy is a Warren. I didn't know what she was before and was looking through the breeds on this site. I was a little sad when he told me the breed is used for battery farming. She doesn't like being hugged that's for sure!

I have 3 warrens approx 26 weeks old one started laying a week ago and I'm still waiting for my first egg from the other 2. They are very friendly and will come to me for treats etc. They let me pick them up and stroke them. And each morning at 6 they are tapping on the coop window ready for me to let them out. Warrens were recommended to me for their good egg laying as I like to home bake. Im very new to chicken keeping and I'm certainly not disappointed with my 3 girls.
