Sunpelt lay in her bed, coughing and generally feeling miserable. She tried to hide it, but her cough was getting steadily worse, and Sunpelt was sure she was on her last moon or two.
Mintpaw woke up after a few hours. She heard more of Sunpelt's coughing and remembered the catmint and Shadowfire's fever. Mintpaw jumped out of bed and ran out of the den. "Has anyone gotten catmint?" she asked frantically.

" Oh! I will!" Firestar jumped up, remembering. "Be back soon!" He meowed. Firestar's mind raced. He couldn't lose Shadowfire! he could'nt!

Sootfur paced around on the outside of the warriors den. Her mind raced as she thought of Brakenfur. He was so handsome now. She remembered when they were young cats, hunting together. Secretly, because Brakenfur's mother did not want him falling in love with a rouge she-cat. But Brakenfur loved her just the same.

Mintpaw paced around, impatiently waiting for Lilyblossom to start training. "Where is she?" she mrrowed. After a long wait, Mintpaw couldn't stand it. She bounded into the forest. Maybe I'll try to hunt! It should be easy, all the other apprentices do it. Mintpaw pricked her ears, listening for prey. She tasted the air and caught the musky scent of mouse. Instantly Mintpaw crouched like Sootfur had told her when she was alone. She saw it rummaging for food near the roots of a tree. Mintpaw pounced and clawed at the mouse, grabbing it in her jaws and crushing the life out of it. Pride surged through her. She had caught a mouse!

She blushed (if cats can blush XD) when she realized what she was thinking. She shook her head, and went looking for Mintpaw. She opened her mouth and caught the scent of Mintpaw outside of camp, she cocked her head, puzzled, then went to look for her.

back at the med. den Firestar was diggin through herbs and finally found Catmint. Outta breath and flushed he entered the den they were in. Cinderpelt behind him.

Mintpaw buried her mouse and looked for more prey. She spotted a squirrel climbing down a tree and crept behind it. The squirrel noticed Mintpaw and fled with Mintpaw on its heels. She dashed after it and crossed the Thunderpath (road). The squirrel ducked under a cluster of bushes that stank of frogs. Mintpaw had no idea that it was the ShadowClan border and continued chasing the prey. She caught it just as she heard the paw steps of other cats. Oh no! Did I cross the border?

She stalked her scent through the woods and froze when she heard the Thunderpath. She crossed it carefully just barely missing a car, and flattened her ears when she smelled Shadowclans scent mixed with Mintpaws scent. She snarled and crouched to the ground stalking closer to heart of Shadowclan.
