"We gotta go see daddy!" Her voice dropped to a whisper so no one would hear; their mother had never seemed to be able to tell them enough that they couldn't let anyone know they saw their father.
"Ok!" They both whispered, and scampered after their sister.
Ebonykit and Shadowkit bounded into Fourtrees, looking crazed so as to look like they were running from ShadowClan.
Troutfur watched them from the bushes, grinning proudly.
Dustkit let his tail fluff out again, and Lionkit laid his ears back.
"Hello my kits!" Troutfur called to them, very softly though.
"Daddy!" Ebonykit and Shadowkit cried, skidding to a stop. "Guess what?!"
Troutfur's face darkened. "Yes?" he hoped it was good news of his mate. Lionkit looked expectantly at his sisters.
"A kittypet came into camp yesterday!" she yowled excitedly. "He said she's stuck in a twoleg nest. She can't come home yet, because her paw had a cast on it," she frowned. "Remember how her paw had been hurting for half a moon? Anyway, remember how she was sick before she got caught, too? Well, she's all well now! We just have to wait for the dumb twolegs to take the cast off before she comes home."
Troutfur sighed in relief, "Good. You let me know the minute she returns home, okay?" he asked, and Lionkit and Dustkit nodded emphatically.
"Wait," Shadowkit said, "what about Dapplestar? Owlpaw said that Dapplestar said at the last Gathering that if she caught the slightest trace of a foreign Clan in her territory, that that Clan would be given something to remember!" She shuddered.
"Owlpaw's kinda wacky though, Shadowkit..." Ebonykit said, "she's kinda got bees in her brain..."

"No, no.. I mean to come here. Just leave a rock on a leaf if I'm not waiting. Then I'll know she's safe, and then at out usual meeting time, she can see me." Troutfur said.
"Ohhhh.." Dustkit said.

(sure)
Silverstripe was up at the crack of dawn. Parting her jaws in a yawn, she padded out, going to the Highrock to gather the patrols for the day.

Quote: Darkstripe narrowed his eyes again. Before he could speak, Brindlepaw jumped forward, "What's a kittypet life like?"
Darkstripe could have faceplanted into the dirt out of frustration and embarrassment.

"Ok, better hurry back now." Troutfur purred, licking each one of their head's. "Go on!" he meowed, nudging them toward home. Lionkit mewed, and scampered off, with Dustkit on his heels.
