Thanks," Silverpaw said proudly, puffing her chest out.

"We'll play soon," Shadowtail reassured her. "Leafkit and Nettlekit are sleeping.

Fernpaw smiled and was about to speak when she was interrupted by her mentor.

"You should be catching kill like that." Coppertail said gruffly.

Fernpaw's ears slightly dropped. "Um, yes sir. I will."

Coppertail nodded and looked at Silverpaw. "If you'll excuse us, I have to teach this apprentice how to hunt."

Fernpaw looked down at her paws.


Tawnykit nodded. "Ok!" She mewed happily going into the nursery.

"Can I come?" Silverpaw asked, "my mentor's out on patrol."

"I hate the nursery," Maplekit complained as Shadowtail ushered the kits inside. "Either somebody's sleeping and we have to be completely quiet and still or someone's visiting and everyone's crammed in here and there's no room for proper games!"
