(Can Specklefur and Troutfur become mates like Shadowpelt and Silverstream are?

Specklefur shared a few words with Smokewhisker.
Silverpaw looked for her mentor.
(I thought Specklefur was Smokewhisker's mate..? Oh thanks, I'll go reply.)
Shadowpelt weaved through the cats, as Silverstream pulled away from Troutfur. She told him she wasn't feeling well, and was going home, but Troutfur knew what was going on.
They both slunk silently through the bushes, side by side, until they got far enough away from the fourtrees. Silverstream sat down, Shadowpelt rubbed his head on her neck.
"We have three kits Shadowpelt." She purred, licking his cheek.
"I heard." He replied.
Silverstream stiffened. "What?! You heard? Someone knows?!"
"No, no, no calm down. I heard it in Dapplestar's report. I didn't know you were pregnant!"
"I tried to tell you, but you said you were getting an apprentice." Silverstream smiled.
"I want to see them." Shadowpelt blurted. "Badly."
"I know." Silverstream mewed, curling her tail around her paws. "Soon. When they are strong."
"I'm sorry I wasn't there. Was it hard? Are you alright?"
"Of course! Well, it was a bit difficult, but I'm fine."
