~Warriors RP~ ThunderClan, RiverClan, WindClan, ShadowClan

"Idiot," Shadetail muttered as she let Nettlepaw's tail go. From above in the tree, Pepper could see them, their noses to the ground as they tried to find him. Slowly, Thrushpelt was making his way over to Pepper's tree, his tail fluffing out.

Pepper watched them curiously, flicking his tail absently back and forth. There was something about them which reminded him of BloodClan, but he also realized that they were very different. Being focused on the group, he didn't notice Thrushpelt.

Thrushpelt gazed up suspiciously at the tree. He flicked his tail to his companions, and silently surrounded the roots of the tree, while Thrushpelt hopped on and started clawing his way up. "I know you're up there. Why are you in ThunderClan territory?" Below, every hair on Nettlepaw's pelt bristled, but Thrushpelt's tone was calm.

Pepper peered down at Thrushpelt with a surprised, but not alarmed expression. He hadn't noticed the tom sneaking towards the tree, but he didn't regard the patrol as a huge threat. They were nothing like what he had encountered in BloodClan. He blinked once and straightened up so he was no longer hanging over the side of the branch watching Thrushpelt, and waited for the warrior to reach him. "I wish to join your Clan," he replied. "ThunderClan, that is. You're ThunderClan right?"

"Yes, we are," Thrushpelt replied, still guarded, but his pelt began to lie flat. "And why do you wish to join ThunderClan?"

Pepper followed Thrushpelt's lead and relaxed even further than his previous "almost relaxed" state, until it looked as though he was addressing a close friend and not a strange forest cat whom he'd never met. "Well, why not? Right? I mean, living alone ain't all it's cracked up to be." He glanced down at the patrol still near the base of the tree. "I've heard a lot about you, you know, through the grapevine... and I think it's a good idea to live the way you do. I'm gettin' old, you know! Might need someone to search me for fleas or somethin' soon..." He flashed a crooked grin at Thrushpelt, even though he was hardly more than two years old.

Thrushpelt looked at him through narrowed eyes, before giving a scoff and rolling his eyes. "Oh, yeah, sure. Come on back, then, if you're serious." He made his way down the tree, flicking his tail. Nettlepaw muttered something under her breath; it was impossible to hear from where Pepper was, but it wasn't nice. A warning growl rose in Shadetail's throat, putting her tail over the apprentice's muzzle.

Pepper followed Thrushpelt gingerly down the tree and landed next to Shadetail and Nettlepaw. He tipped his head at the warrior queen, glanced briefly at Nettlepaw and her tail, then dipped his head with a sly smile. "Why..." He purred. "You look mighty fine, miss."

Nettlepaw let out a growl. "You're just asking for-"

"Nettlepaw!" Shadetail snapped. "I'm sorry," she apologized to Pepper. Nettlepaw's ears laid back irritably.

"Oh, by the way," Thrushpelt meowed, "I'm Thrushpelt, and that's Shadetail and Sunfire. And the one just asking for a swat around the ears is Nettlepaw."

Pepper twirled his tail once around Nettlepaw's ears, maintaining the same sly smile. He looked at Thrushpelt and replied, "I'm Pepper, I come from twolegplace. Nice to meet you all." He purposely didn't mention anything about BloodClan, for fear of the forest cats assuming he was a bloodthirsty maniac like most of Scourge's cats were. Before he came, he had washed off the scent as much as possible, and hoped that nobody caught onto it.
