This is not a medical emergency, but I didn’t know which section to post under. I was wondering if anyone knew why my chicken is getting sort of like a warty looking face? I think she’s beautiful, but her face is getting a little warty looking around her eyes and on her comb.

How old is this little lady? And do you have mosquitoes? Fowl pox is spread by mosquitoes.

It can be from aging or it may be the beginning of dry form of fowl pox. If the bumps progress to black scabs, it's then likely fowl pox. It should clear up on its own in a few weeks. If you see other chickens getting this, it's further evidence of fowl pox as it's contagious. If the bumps ulcerate, you can help dry them up by painting iodine on them.

Oh, OK thank you for your reply. I was thinking it might be part of the aging process because her face has gotten more like that the past year. She is about four years old.
