4 years ago I bought "americaunas" to add to my flock. They were supposed to be 1-1.5 month old and were feathered like a 1-1.5 month old chicken but sized like a 2 week old one.
They ended up doing well and I squared away with the hatchery but after doing some random chicken research today I think I just got easter eggers.
First of all, 1 lays a green egg and I thought real americaunas are "purebred" to lay blue.
Second, after just checking the purchase confirmation it says "americana" not "americauna" which now seems like a different way of saying easter egger. Either way I love them to death but I feel a little slow just figuring out this revelation. So, am I correct to think they are just easter eggers?
