Was it a fluke?

My first egg came yesterday and now nothing. She ran up into the nest box several times today but nothing came out. Is this normal? Just a giant poop. Do they usually take a day off when they start?

It takes some time to get into the swing of things. Most breeds do not lay every day even in the highest point of lay.
With these short days I am only getting between 0 and 6 eggs a day out of 18 that are of age to lay.
Patience is a virtue and boy do the chickens test it.
