Was supposed to be CX, then Leghorn, now what??

A few of these young guys have started getting tan on their backs and black tips on their cape feathers. What are they?

Tractor Supply. They were sold as Cornish Cross and when they didn't grow as fast we figured they were Leghorns, buuuut, many of what seem to be roosters in the group are getting this tan on their backs. The pullets are still nearly all white.

Oh, and as babies, they looked EXACTLY like Cornish Cross chicks.

Any idea how these would be as fryer chickens?

I think they are Dixie Rainbows or something similar. Meat birds but hens can also be used for egg production. Rainbows are not as big as Cornish X but still more hefty than any red sex link.

They look like nice, fat meat chickens. Just not quite CX.
