He could just be a hatchery bred australorp. Or some corss back in the genepool, but he has alot of markings of an australorp either way he is gorgeous
Hi, I just read your thread and hope to give some insight about the black australorp. I have some and what I note is when young the earlobes are white. As the reach hen/cock age the earlobes begin to get some red and change eventually to red. I have found nothing in this color change related to stress or cold weather. Remember there is minorca in the original cross to develope the breed and they can have white ears. Hope this helps even tho it is late.
