15 egg's went to lockdown "expensive egg's might i add" into my brand new genesis, 9 came out. Not a horrible hatch, but not a very good one ether. I just recently set some fertility test egg's from my new rooster, fridge egg's, and egg's that are 3 weeks old that came out of my recently "MIA" bantam pullet. Decided to try the dry hatch method since the air cells in my first go were on the small side. The first hatch consisted of low 40's humidity during the first 18 days and 70's for hatch. I had SEVERAL day 19 pip's and lot's of day 20 hatches. I would say about 3 or so came out on day 21. The manual for the 1588 say's it comes pre set for 100 to 100.5, and since i started my dry hatch...the temp has only gotten higher, my termo's are all reading 100 to 101 now. So finally my question is, how many of you had to adjust your Genesis's?? I don't know if i should go down a half a degree for a full degree? The manual made it look very easy to adjust the thermostat, but id'e be lieing if i said i was not intimidated to do it. Would love to here your guy's thought's.

I'd be interested to know too as I just received my new 1588 today and put new eggs to test out. Good luck!

Mine showed up yesterday. I'm curious to know the answer to this as well. I was going to run a test hatch with freebie eggs first before putting in the good "goods".

Mine sits a little low. Very steady at 99.1f and I think I'd like to move it up 1/2 a degree but I've already got eggies in it so no experimenting on adjusting the temp until after this batch is done.

I have 2 of them, and I had to "reset to factory settings" on both of them, as they were running hot too!. It IS easy, just follow the directions!

I had to adjust mine. It was too high.

In fact, I think that perhaps I still need to adjust it slightly down.

I am just cleaning up from the last hatch, and then I will turn it on and check temp and see.

well im glad this thread has the potential to help others out with my problem. Should i go down a half step or a full degree? What do you guy's think?

I tried stepping down with mine, and didn't see a change, so had to just reset it. Then there's no guessing...
