washing chicken, what soap to use

I need to wash my chicken, what soap should i use, human shampoo, dog shampoo, dish soap, hand soap? thanks and please replie quickly as i'm washing him right now.

I've never needed to wash one. They're pretty much self-cleaning unless you spill something on them.

I've heard to use Dawn on them. I hope my response does you good at some point, I'm a little late! And I politely disagree with the above poster, sometimes chickens can get dirty butts and poo cakes in their feathers.. I have one fluffy butt Orpington who apparently is too high and mighty to clean her own butt. The rest do pretty good for themselves

I got told by poultry showers to use ivory dish soap.

Yes you can buy dawn in Aus. Baby shampoo is probably gentler.

ha sweet. any idea what shops carry it but? i live in country victoria so i have a pretty small selection of shops... might avta find somewhere online. might just get the baby stuff...
