Seeking guidance for lethargic hen w/green poop!

You can dilute the PC a little if you like. I just don’t put it in the water, since it would be wasting it if they don’t drink all of the water.
That makes sense! K I’ll just add some to the syringe to get her some liquids! Will report back once I’ve given her a dose!

It didn’t go well giving her the dose 😞 She fought so hard that it made it really difficult to give it to her, and now she’s coughing off and on and I’m wondering whether we got some in the airway after all. 😔 My neighbor and I tried so hard..I’m not sure whether the chicken is going to make it. I held her for a while and she seemed to be resting and breathing ok, but I’m still not sure. I did see some lice or mites on her face too so if she pulls through, I’ll treat her for that as well.

She didn’t make it..I had to put her down this morning, and the vet is going to do a necropsy to see whether the other chickens are at risk. Thanks for your support and advice, @Eggcessive , even if my girl didn’t make it 😔 I’m just grieving and processing now..

I am sorry for your loss. If she had lice or mites, I would also treat the others with permethrin garden dust. Most state vet labs do necropsies as well with lab testing and histology to find a cause of death. Here is a list of state vets:

Thank you. And yes, I think I will go ahead and treat the others for lice/mites, just to be safe; thanks for confirming what I was thinking! And yes, I ordered a necropsy to see whether whatever was wrong with my sweet girl will affect the rest of my flock..I’m so anxious that it’s going to be something serious and deadly to all of them, but I’m trying to take it one minute at a time..I’m hoping that the necropsy won’t be in vain and it can help make sure the other girls are safe and healthy.
