Washing eggs...

I agree with the other posts. I have a counter that I keep my eggs on. I never wash them unless they are dirty. You can use an egg wash or dip them in 1 tbsp bleach to a gal of warm water then rinse if you want to sanitize them, but then you must refrigerate them. I also sell eggs to local markets. You have to check you local laws for this as I have to sanitize any eggs I sell to a retailer. If one of their customers got sick from any of my eggs the market could be sued as well as I could be sued too as the supplier.

I don't wash mine - just spot clean if there is any dirt on them. I don't sell my eggs. I give many away though - and I always tell the person receiving them that the eggs are not washed and if that bothers them they can wash them.
