Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I need to place an order for egg cartons. I'm looking at the view-able 1 dozen, pulp cartons. I can either order 250 for 76 bucks (30 cents ea), or 2,200 for 520 (23 cents). If there is enough interest, I was thinking that there is probably time to have an order for 2,200 shipped to me and I bring some to Monroe.

Two thousand two hundred egg cartons - is a LOT -- who wants a few hundred?

VF you just need to get MORE chickens to fill all those up!

Yes, those groups go way too far. Dogs are much happier when they have something to do, whether it's play or work. They don't know the difference, they just understand they are being "entertained".  I hope you find the dog of your dreams! :thumbsup

"Enslave" really is a word!"To make into or as if into a slave."
true, that dogs are generally happier when they have a job, but it really depends on the job. I used to work with someone with a guide dog and that poor thing was stuck under his owner's desk for 8 hours, then on a very short handle the rest of the time walking at a slow blind person's pace. He did not look happy at all, just resigned, and not particularly healthy either. I felt bad for him - a nice looking German Shepherd basically wasted with this job. Correctly bred GSDS are made to run all day and have tons of drive to perform much more active and exciting jobs than that... Search and rescue, police, Schuzhund sport, stock dogs etc. I don't begrudge someone with disabilities their canine assistance but using a high drive breed like GSDs makes no sense to me, except that they are protective and easy to train... But this goes for many other breeds.

Yes, that's the term.

Thank you. One of the reasons I'm so excited to be part of this production is because Reservoir Dogs was always one of my faves too. I'm sorry you won't be able to make it, but I understand how hectic our lives can get!

Just a warning to Slinglings and TerrorBird now that you're car pooling with the other ladies, please be prepared - this show has just about every naughty word starting with every letter of the alphabet. Many of them I had to look up in the Urban Dictionary to understand how they should be delivered.

But "my crew" and I are playing VERY hard core criminals, so the characters will be speaking the way you'd expect.

My director has explained it like this -

So why Reservoir Dogs?

I have always loved words. Quentin Tarantino is one of modern American cinema’s greatest wordsmiths. I love the movie, but more than the cinematic reality of the thing it is it's bones that compel me. As iconic as the performances of Keitel, Roth, Buscemi et al have become, strip it all away and you have one hell of a script. In many ways Dogs is a perfect fit for theater, it needs quite a bit of adapting that is true, but much of the action happens in the wings, and what we are left with are these very human characters and the connections and consequences of their (sometimes very inhumane) actions. It's a very intimate story.

Why two productions?

When originally TAO decided to do Reservoir Dogs it was met with a huge wave of excitement, but at the same time, there was a current of disappointment. No roles for women. As a female director I am often called on the carpet for my choices of scripts. I was a bookish child, even as a young girl I was more drawn to Hugo and Dumas than Jane Austin. I can not explain it, it's just how it is. My difficulty is that not many plays written for women fit into my personal esthetic. I was having a conversation about that exact thing when it hit me, why not do it with women? That would be very interesting.

Once the possibility entered my mind I could not shake the excitement at the prospect, the opportunity for women to play characters such as these and play them straight, no kitsch, no clowning, no apologies, is a rare one. And now here we are, in the midst of rehearsals and it’s the best of both worlds.
Sounds like great intertainment SS. My Oldest DD works in theater in the Corvalis area, now she mainly does childrens theather, to help the next generation find the healing love of acting( her words).

Well, my chickens are practically swimming today. Been pouring rain all day. Good thing I fed them inside this morning. So much for stripping down their coop and run and laying fresh bedding. Oh well, maybe tomorrow it will be drier out and I can get their pen cleaned. The horses are even drenched and all 4 of them got some alfalfa with their breakfast this morning. Good thing about all this rain is that means my pasture and lawns will start greening up and once the night time temps come up, Ill be able to start transplanting all my veggie plants.

Well, My hubby finally got the ball rolling on getting those chickens to their new home!!!!! 9 pullets/cockerels went to his buddie's house and the three roosters, well, lets just say that they went away. they are now living with a bunch of other chickens and guinnes at a neighbors house but the neighbor doesn't know it yet ;-) Whiski is so much happier now that he has his girls all to himself and he is healing up nicely and back to his old "cocky" self. My girls are doing better having more room and my hubby is letting me keep 4 of the pullets instead of just one. He claims that its only fair because, apparently, Blondie and Whiski are now his...hahahahaha

Congrats on making room for more chickens, haha!
this is ridiculous. well trained working dogs always seem so happy to me!
Obviously, you don't have to know much about dogs to run a rescue!
I have the next two days off and if the rain ever stops, Ill be doing some spring cleaning starting with the chicken coop :) I have 2 hens that are wanting babies now, Blondie and one of my black hens. Here in a bit, I may let them each have a batch :)
It sure is coming down right now ( at least for this part of the state)! I think
Just say NO to silkies -- icky nasty looking things .. why they cant even SEE geeeze .. ugly birds :)
Hahaha! I love them, but they are high maintenance! I broke down and made them their own inclosure because they kept getting pooped on in the big coop. I will never get white ones again as they seem to always look dirty. Also, i did have to clip around the girl's eyes sinve they do go outside.

Ugh, i hate posting quotes on this phone app!!

Sweetlilbaby, good luck on your search and TRY not to get discouraged. It helps to think "it wasn't meant to be" on the other pups (easier said than done). I hope the GSD momma is of good health and conformation, as I'm sure you're aware of the health issues they can face. My GSD/aussie mix is very healthy but is very mouthy and bullies my cats when I'm not looking, grr! I wish I had the energy to give her the outlet she needs :( From now on it's the giants for me!!! I've had several herders and LOVE them, but they need lots of stimulation!

I have 4 Mille Fleur D'Uccle chicks that are three weeks old up for grabs! They are sweet I just decided I'm going to go with Mille Cochins instead. PM me for more details or if you are interested.
