It has been HOT here, like 70-80 degrees !!!!!!!!!!!!!
We stopped at HD yesterday morning early & bought 10 gallons of paint, ($450. ) and then went to Mom & Dad's for a family brunch.

No grandkids there though~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All our grandkids are far away...kinda sad...............

Einstein painted the little pig that CR made...and we took it to Mom, she was so excited !
I have to get a photo of it after dad plants a few flowers in it & will post...but it is white enamel with black spots, pink nose & feet...very cute !

So I get to paint today....ought to have a screaming sore neck, back, arms, legs, hands & feet by tonight (did I leave anything else out ?)

Hayyyylooooo!

Ok so sorry for the scare on Tuesday. I had put CL on the list of folks to call when I got out of surgery. Just forgot to tell her.

I underwent a pretty extensive hip surgery on Tuesday. The actual surgery itself lasted almost 4 hours. I am now on bed rest for 2 weeks & then I can not bare any weight on my right leg for another 6 weeks. The surgery itself went well and now it's just the ugly painful side of recovery.

I'm not sure of all the new folks that I met at Monroe. But HI!!!!

If you saw Her Royal Highneyness Daffy at Monroe then you saw me!
Scared me to near death !
When her BF called & said she just got out of surgery I thought she had been in a bad accident !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know what's funny? I have an old trailer here that doesn't belong to me, a 24ft one, only when last investigated there were raccoons living in it.

Hmmm... I'd get it so it could be towed, and then move it. Oh boy oh boy :)

OH ! I dig that dust bath - I need to put that on my list of things to make. It would be perfect out in the middle of the pasture.

Tomorrow- can't go anyplace until the truck is unloaded- it;'s still full of wood we bought from a local fella - heck of a deal and he's offered we can take his heavy-duty 4" tall square pavers too- and some pressure treated beans (3x 10's, 20 foot). Those would make really nice raised beds for strawberries or other perennials!

From what I hear you do NOT want to use pressure treated lumber for raised beds. Nasty stuff leaches from the wood into the soil into your food.

You'd have to talk to Uncle Mervie, he's the registered owner: getting it from here to anywhere is complicated by that little legal fact. And getting rid of the raccoons, of course, not to mention the interior stuff that needs to go to the dump. Free is sometimes not cheap.

What color are you painting your house?

I haven't hardly bought paint in years- there's soooo many people giving it away on CL, I've gathered freebies and mixed my own custom colors. The exception is our bedrooms. I only use zero VOC in sleeping areas, but I got 10 different gallons of that free once- and made custom colors- pale green for our room, pale blue for DH's walls, etc. I found that if I gather a pile of neutral colors, I can buy just 1 or 2 gallons of paint to mix in and get whatever color I want.

The pig sounds cute!

If you weren't so far away, I'd coem paint wth you. Painting parties are fun:)

We spent the day up on Whidbey Island today, trying to get a glimpse of some of the gray whales or transient Orcas, buit no luck. It was a nice day to be at the beach though! We caught this heron feeding at one of the marshes- and had a perfect mirror image- but then the tiniest breeze kicked up just as I was trying to snap it on my iphone.

We got home so late, after having to wait for 2 ferries- (finally getting on the 3rd one!)- that we weren't able to check on Mrs Broody and her futur(?)e hatchlings. Fingers crossed that she's got some fluffballs under her when I check tomorrow.

I was up there last week and the grays were in Penn Cove. Friends (locals) said the Orcas haven't been around much. They were expecting for them to come back soon.

btw- beautiful picture

WHAT A FANTASTIC WEEKEND EVERYBODY!!!! Boy! Doesn't that sun feel so good!!!

I had so many people to quote! I didn't want to leave a page long reply! Hi to the new folks! Glad to ear you're ok T Hi!! Take care of your self and don't get too bored.

I apologize in advance for all the pics but I just have to share!!! My sweet baby cousin was lost in the foster system and not only did we get her back! She gets to stay with us for awhile!!! SUCH A GREAT WEEKEND!

My daughter got a cute new dress, so she played in it out side while we did yardwork on Sat. We have been building a pallet patio and are finally almost done with it. I added that not so great pic with the green to show what color the benches turned out. Then by the time we got everything put back together, it was dark...

My cousin, DD and I went to Ruston on Sunday, and OH MAN! Was it just too beautiful. I shouldn't be so blessed!
