Yes.... totally.... please.
Thank you Rob.

Well Rainwolf has some really good egg layers and is a Great Peep!!!
Yes, she is. I was able to stop by and visit for a while with Rainwolf and her mom this afternoon. They were very nice to me and showed me around the chickens living areas and answered questions. I even got sent home with a dozen amazing eggs, and a branch from the bay leaf tree. Can you say AWESOME?

Rainwolf, thanks again for your very generous hospitality!

Hey-ya! Six chicks so far, and a bunch pipped- one more Hamburg zipped, as a matter of fact. Four SSH, two Bd'A. Which since I was freaking myself out over whether my fridge was too cold and a bunch of other stuff is... sort of reassuring.

Still, if they all hatch I'm in deep do-do and will be looking for homes rather quickly!

I have talked with VF...and if anyone here wants his e-mail addy, please e-mail me, my e-mail addy is in my sig line.
I will then forward the message to him.
He is done with BYC.

Wish I was closer sounds like fun!!!
Try Raisins you may have to toss them in at first but they"ll love them and it gives them a chance to build up a little trust. We don't handle our birds a whole bunch so hey tend go stay back a little but you bust out the raisins and you have the a running you're way. STAMPEDE!

Nice! This thread has some awesome people on it who genuinely care about each other and are always willing to help each other.
What kind of eggs did you bring home??

Quote: Yep, they have to find out first they are good and sometimes they don't take your word for it. My own first experience with the raisins was they investigated, turned their beaks up at my offering and never touched them. Then I got the BlueRoo and he found a snack box that I left (by error) in his recovery area (injured legs.hips) and he got it opened and devoured the rasins. The next time I offered (he was now in charge of the flock) the rasins he came over and immediately called the girls over and they had a party!
Funny critters, these chickens.

I have a chick pic or two of my own! I came into these two unexpectedly on Thursday/Friday. One's a RIR and the other is an Iowa Blue. Their names are Strawberry and Blueberry.

They were having fun exploring mom's bed yesterday in between cuddles.
