Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Any Puget Sound area Wyndotte aficionados? If so, would love to talk to you about a gold-laced I have. Send me a message, or let me know if it is ok to send you one. </trying hard not to break forum rules>

Ok so I have a situation where someone came to me with an abandoned gosling. I took it in and I have no idea how to care for it. I tried showing it to my chickens but they are not happy about it. I heard they don't like to be alone. My friend wants to take it in but I think she needs another one to make it happy. Does anyone know where to get a companion for it? I'm in the Bremerton area.

Goslings really need company - HOWEVER, it needn't be another gosling or even a bird. After predators took our Lizzie's sister and brothers, she became close to the dog (she was raised with her anyway) so it can be done. Humans too!

I'm still a little achy today, although the sheep (a wether, by the way: I've got enough problems in my life without trying to keep a ram for a lawnmower!) is mostly contrite.

I was going to finish the emergency broody cage after morning chores, but when I did my first check on the bantams, all the cockerels were ganging up on the smallest- the splash quail, the one I want to keep, of course. So I had to clean the old fish tank and put him and the two (only two) pullets in with him so he would stop yelling to get back in with the big bullies. Just finished that tiny chore (with its complicating features like making a chick-proof cover and cleaning up water and feed dishes) and now I'm sitting out the kitchen timer I set so I don't fall into the internet, drinking enough water to make up what I sweated out at brooder-room temps and catching up on my analgesics.

I haven't started the incubator yet, which may be a sign that I have some lingering bit of sanity- if I had a little Brinsea I'd set the Wyandotte eggs immediately, since they're going away at a day old, but I don't want to deal with the big hot styrofoam one in the kitchen again, and my possible alternative location contains a big dead CRT monitor which I was sure had gone to the dump. UGH.

I'm really discomforted by having to choose between here and that other place: I hate, hate, hate the interface over there. But... oh, well, I'm not sure what will end with a smack-down here, and am at a loss to figure out what is and isn't allowed.

We're no longer allowed to offer to purchase or sell birds?

Isn't that why we have a local forum?

This rule really doesn't make sense, and I cannot find where it is posted that we're not allowed to.

If someone could share a link to the rule, I'd appreciate it.
